The 5 Best A3 Picture Frames for Nurseries and Children’s Rooms

As a Nursery Print Designer, I get asked for A3 frame recommendations for children’s rooms a lot and they’re suprisingly tricky to source, so I thought it would be helpful to have a collection of 5 of the best A3 picture frames for nurseries and children’s rooms all in one place. I really like natural, thin frames or something with a bit of fun which doesn’t overpower the print, but it’s important to choose something which complements the feel of the print your framing and that will go alongside the existing decor in the room it’s going to be hung in.

As the A3 frames we’re looking at are for nurseries and children’s rooms, it’s also important to consider the safety of the frame. I always go for perspex, rather than glass and if the frame has glass in it, I’ll take it out and leave the print bare. I also avoid hanging anything heavy above the child’s sleeping area and hang the prints high enough so they’re out of reach. It’s all common sense, but it’s quite easy to forget when you’re repurposing a frame from elsewhere or get excited by something you’ve found, so it’s important to keep these aspects in mind.

Now let’s get onto the fun stuff…

  1. A thin, natural A3 frame from H&M

I was genuinely so excited when I came across this frame on H&M (displaying the Twin Flower Twin Nursery Print), a thin, natural wood frame with a perspex front. This A3 frame is sold as a children’s artwork display frame, so it has a little slot to slide the artwork in and out of, great if you like changing up your nursery wall decor.

2. A wavy mangnetic A3 frame from independent brand, Autumn’s Corner

This wavy magnetic frame from Autumn’s Corner is really good quality, adds a bit of fun to your nursery wall art and is a great price too. I love supporting independent brands, so this one was a no brainer for me. It comes in an array of colours if you’re wanting to pick out your nursery wall art’s colour scheme too. Pictured here below with the Peas in a Pod Twin Nursery Print from my Twin Club collection. This A3 nursery frame is great for hanging on peg shelves, decorative hooks and gives the ability to switch up your artwork.

3. A wavy wooden frame from Habitat

Staying on the wavy theme, this Wavy Wooden Picture Frame from Habitat is quite special, made from real wood by Italian frame creators. It doesn’t specify if it’s a glass or perspex front, so I would suggest removing it and having the print bare. I love how this one adds an element of fun, but the quality and materials keep it natural enough to be timeless.

4. A simple, thin wood effect A3 frame from John Lewis

This simple frame is really minimal and won’t detract from the nursery artwork you’re displaying. It’s available in A4, A3 and A2 and you can order the size above if your want to display your artwork with a mount to make more of a centrepiece (a great money saving tip if you haven’t got the budget for large scale artwork).

5. The Creamore Mill Oak Poster Hanger

Made in Shropshire from Oak and available from Black Bough, this Oak Poster Hanger is brilliant quality and so versatile. I love using poster hangers for my prints (check out my nursery prints, they’re all featured in these!) They’re easy to move around, don’t involve any glass and I love the natural wood against my nursery prints. I’m also a big fan of this one being made in the UK and sold by a small business. Remember if you’re framing a landscape nursery print like the Otter Art Print for Children, to order the size above.

Poster hangers give great flexibility and the oak finish of this one is a lovely touch in a woodland nursery.

I hope you’ve found something you love from this selection and have a few ideas of how you can frame your nursery prints in beautiful ways. If you’re looking to start your nursery print collection, I’d love it if you took a look at my range. Emma x
